Summer months can be brutally hot here in Texas, but thankfully Fall is upon us and it’s time to cool down…a little bit.
San Antonio offers a variety of events and activities to partake in during the fall months. The cooler days and even cooler evenings allow for an ideal climate to enjoy some outdoor activities without worrying about sweating through your clothes.
Whether you’re looking to celebrate fall and Halloween with a spooky corn maze or haunted house, or if you’d rather enjoy some delicious food and beverages from around the San Antonio area, this season get out and take advantage of the beautiful weather and check out what San Antonio has to offer this time of year!
Fall Events and Activities in San Antonio, TX
Fright Fest / Boo Fest at Six Flags Fiesta Texas – Sept. 10th – Oct. 30th
Amusement parks do their best to put on a spooky show every Fall by converting their properties into the night of the living dead. Fright Fest offers an experience unlike any you’ve ever had at Six Flags Fiesta Texas.
You’ll experience scary creatures roaming the property as well as ghoulish “new” rides and attractions. There are also haunted houses as well as scare zones spread throughout the park which you can experience even if you’re not a fan of roller coasters.
New to Six Flags Fiesta Texas is Kids Boo Fest! This themed event on the property caters to younger children who may be a little frightened of what happens once the sun goes down. There are trick or treating events, family friendly rides, and fall festivities that are perfect for any age.
Owl Creek Pumpkin Patch – Starting Sept. 30th
Nothing says fall quite like a visit to the pumpkin patch. Owl Creek Pumpkin Patch has been delivering on great fall events for years and if you haven’t visited yet, we suggest checking them out.
The pumpkin patch is open starting September 30th and also features a haunted hike that is sure to get you in the Halloween spirit.
In addition to the pumpkin patch and the haunted hike, they also have a wide variety of animals that you can pet and feed as well as pony rides and hayrides.
Cavern Fall Fest – Oct. 2022
Every weekend in October Natural Bridge Caverns will offer up a variety of fun activities for the whole family.
Take advantage of the mini hayrides, live music, yard games, in addition to all of the other attractions that they offer – Cavern Tours, Twisted Trails Zip Rails and Ropes Course and Gem Panning are all available as well during October, but require tickets ahead of time.
On October 29th and 30th they will also offer trick or treating from 3pm to 5pm.
San Antonio Beer Fest – Oct. 15th
San Antonio Beer Fest is back for 2022 featuring over 400 premium and craft beers from over 100 different breweries from around the world.
Located in Crockett Park, this festival is a must visit for the beer lover in your family. In addition to beer, you’ll be able to enjoy live music, games, wines, ciders, food trucks and booths, as well as local vendors and more.
This is a great way to spend the day hanging out with your friends or family, while enjoying some nice cold beverages.
Tasting Texas Wine & Food Festival – Oct 27-30
If you’re looking to try incredible food and beverages from all around the San Antonio area, then you’re not going to want to miss the Tasting Texas Wine & Food Festival 2022.
The James Beard Foundation is bringing the best of Texas food to Travis Park from October 27th through 30th. You’ll get to experience culinary experts from across Texas who bring their unique taste of food and flavor profiles straight to your mouth!
This festival features a number of different events that take you from food to wine and everything in between. You’ll get to sip on various wines while learning about the art of cooking and what makes these chefs stand out in such a competitive field.
This is a ticketed event and each of the individual days’ events require tickets. So please make sure you buy your tickets ahead of time to ensure your spots!
Muertos Fest – Oct. 29-30th
Come celebrate the 10th anniversary of the amazing Dia de los Muertos festival, Muertos Fest, located in Hemisfair Park. This festival celebrates The Day of the Dead by bringing together live music, original artwork, dancing, drumming, and more!
National Geographic has voted Muertos Fest one of the 7 best fall festivals in the United States. You will also be able to get a glimpse into some of the activities and events surrounding the fest as a 2-hour special will air on ABC on October 30th.
