Fun Things to do in San Antonio This Summer [Updated 2024]
Now that Memorial Day Weekend is here, it’s time to start thinking about getting out of the house and enjoying the beautiful summer weather that San Antonio has to offer.

Summer Events and Activities in San Antonio 2024
Salute at Sunset River Parade
San Antonio is also known as “Military City, USA” with all the military bases located here. From basic training to retirement, thousands of soldiers and veterans make San Antonio their home. The Riverwalk in San Antonio is a great place to spend your summer evenings, this July you’ll be able to show your support for our United States military with the Armed Forces River Parade on July 4th at 8pm.
Starting in the evening, you can catch decorated floats representing all branches of our military as they float down the river through San Antonio. The parade will feature military members as well as businesses and nonprofits that honor and support active and retired military members.

Pride River Parade & Festival
The 3rd annual Pride River Parade will come through San Antonio on Saturday June 1st this year. Celebrate inclusion and support of the LGBTQ+ community by enjoying two showings of the pride parade on the river. The Museum Reach River Parade will take place from 6-7pm, while the Downtown River Parade will run from 9-10pm.

Visit Tower of the Americas
If you’re looking for the best view of the city, then you’re going to want to check out the Tower of the Americas. At the top of this San Antonio landmark you’ll find an observation deck which gives you incredible views over the entire city, along with a restaurant, and a 4D sensory experience called Skies Over Texas that takes you through Texas and shows you some of the amazing things that happen in our great state.

River City Ghost Tours
Want to learn more about the dark side of San Antonio? The River City Ghosts, Ghost Tour will take you through San Antonio’s Old Town as you learn about the history of San Antonio that you’re not taught in schools.
This ghost tour features 8-12 different locations as well as a guide who will explain all the deep, dark mysteries surrounding each of them. The standard tour will last about 60 minutes but can be extended another 30 minutes if interested. The 60-minute tour is about 1 mile long and is suitable for all ages.
Spots fill up fast, so be sure to book your tickets ahead of time.
LEGO Land Discovery Center
If you’ve got the kids with you, or if you’re just a huge fan of LEGO, then LEGO Land Discovery in San Antonio is a great place to beat the heat this summer. Build and explore in this massive LEGO wonderland that is sure to put a smile on any LEGO fan’s face.
With over 12 different experiences and rides throughout the discovery zone, there is always something to get your hands on. If the heat is getting to be too much for you, this is a great way to spend some time indoors while experiencing the joy of LEGO.

Just outside of San Antonio you’ll find the Schlitterbahn New Braunfels Waterpark and Resort. This is a great place to take the whole family if you’re looking for a way to beat the heat.
